The program which drew in over 5 million viewers immediately became a hit causing ITV to commission another series.
Speaking of the new ITV drama series, ITV’s chief director of dramas Steve November said: “The audience’s response to the classic crime partnership of Endeavour and Thursday has been incredible and we’re thrilled at the prospect of more Endeavour stories written by Russell Lewis and produced by Mammoth Screen.”
The chief scriptwriter for the series Russell Lewis added: “We’re truly delighted by the audience’s reaction to the first quartet of Endeavour stories, and very grateful to ITV for the opportunity to further embellish the legend.”
Series 2 will begin production later this year and will be mainly shot in Oxford. It will consist of four 1-hour-and-20-minute episodes.
